Graduation
In accordance with the educational provision of Ontario, graduates must obtain 30 credits, of which 18 are from compulsory courses and 12 are from elective courses. Students only can have access to a credit when they pass the course requirements. High school graduates usually continue their study in colleges or universities. The educational institutions admit a student based on his or her performance in high school. A student¡¯s improvement is evaluated by their routine tests, homework and final examinations. The admission system is completely different from NCEEC (National College Entrance Examination of China). In Ontario, the general requirements for admission to universities are ranging from 70% --100%, based on which university and area of study the student is applying to. The minimum requirements to world-renowned universities are above 85%, which sometimes include specific extracurricular activities. If the students are willing to study in the United States of America, successfully completing the SAT is an asset.
For the students who have not lived in Canada for 4 years or more, taking TOEFL or IELTS in order to meet the university requirements is a necessary. Under the Canadian higher educational system, it is very important for students to take courses, perform in exams and plan for further education while in high school. Therefore, once students move to our Home Stay center, we will help them choose courses, develop further education goals, obtain good marks, improve their English skills, along with any other personal or university related requirements. Through this process and method of care, students can increase their probability of enrolling in a world-renowned university.
