2. Will it be more helpful for students to improve their English skills when home staying in Canadian families?
Most students prefer to home stay with Canadian families, however, those families are often not always English-speaking Canadians. Often, they¡¯ve immigrated from South Europe, India or China. Even if a student is living with a caucasian, Canadian family, that family may lack the knowledge or follow-through to give that student comprehensive learning assistance. According to our observations, most students have a conversations with their landlords at the beginning, but as time goes on, the conversation becomes nothing more than a daily greeting instead. In that instance, students hardly improve their English.
3. Will the fee be more expensive than other home stay services since your center provides several services?
The general home stay fee in Toronto is CAD 900.00/month or more, plus internet access, telephone bills and transportation cost, the total amount of cost is CAD 1050.00/ month, and if the student needs guardian aid then the cost will be increased to CAD 1250.00/month. In Inspiration Homestay center, we provide accommodation, telephone, internet, tutoring and guardianship, which we only charge CAD 1250.00/month. The cost of tutoring in Toronto is over CAD 850.00/month. Our rental fee includes tutoring, accommodation and all facilities that the students need. When all is said and done, the cost of these services becomes secondary. Inspiration Homestay Center is the best choice for you
4. I have already obtained the visa, should I choose to stay in school or Inspiration Homestay Center?
Schools in Toronto usually provide dormitories to students. The cost is almost 12,000.00 for two semesters including accommodations, phone bills and so on. The advantage of living in campus is that students can have easy access to their classes. However, the disadvantages are many, and complicate the choice. First, students may not have nutritious meals every day, but instead may mainly eat fast food. Second, students without a high level of self-discipline and are often prone to waste much of their time. Third, once students have problems, they do not have teachers to ask. Fourth, some students do not have self-care abilities, which may result in precariously unpleasant living conditions and an unhealthy life style. New landed students first need to strengthen their English skill, but when they attend schools with a large number of Chinese students, teachers can¡¯t spend time on individuals with specific concerns or questions. If tutoring services are purchased, of course, the cost of living and the cost of studying becomes quite prohibitive. In our homestay center, experienced teachers will help students with their language learning and provide a high-standard diet. The resident advisors live with students 24 hours and provide necessary help. With us, students are given the atmosphere where their language and study skills improve without distraction.
5. What is the difference between public schools and private schools? How will students make the right choice?
Some private schools may have a widely recognized name and thus be well recommended, though it rarely conceals the fact that in such an institution it is much easier to obtain credits. According to our experience, when applying for schools, public schools are always the first choice for students; Century aristocratic private schools are following and the general private schools are the third choice. The differences are as follows: 1) Cost: the government of Canada pays for public schooling (minus minor field trip fees and etc..); general private schools are almost the same in this regard. Century aristocratic private schools cost over 45,000.00 per year. 2) School facilities: public schools possess the best facilities, including beautiful campuses, gyms, labs and so on; Century aristocratic private schools are currently taking second place, and the campuses of which are over a hundred years old. General Private Schools usually do not have advanced school facilities and campus environments. 3) Teaching quality: Century aristocratic private schools and public schools have a high standard of education, and in general the standards of private schools vary depending on which institution you¡¯re considering.
6. Will it be very difficult to apply for public schools in Canada? Will the procedures be very complicated?
Although the requirements in public schools are undemanding, the quota is limited for international students. Therefore, students should apply for schools as soon as possible. The application procedures are not complicated either. Students need to prepare the necessary documents.
7. Can I assume that obtaining a student visa will result in successful overseas study?
Many parents and students are under the impression that once they obtain a visa, they will definitely have a successful studying experience overseas. Moreover, they believe their English will be perfect once they begin residing in Canada. According to our experience, improving language skills is a gradual process. Some immigrants with impressive academic backgrounds and competitive working experiences hardly find professional work in Canada due to their lack of fluency in English. Thus, the student visa is simply a key for that individual to study in Canada. Even students who have access to a professional teacher¡¯s assistance require a long-term and systematic learning period to conquer the language barrier. Many students begin high school in Canada hoping to attend world-renowned universities, but universities only choose from the top of the class. In China, there is NCEE; while in Canada, the selection is according to the student¡¯s performance and language skills. Only those students who completely devote themselves to study can enter their ideal schools and be highly competent specialists, academics and professionals.
